Nexus

Nexus2 (1)

Nexus celebrates both the individual and collective journeys of the people of Templemore. The sculpture explores themes of connection, inspiration and shared experience through a harmonious composition of interlocking abstract forms.

Rooted in the local map, the steel framework draws from the area’s road networks and pathways to create a structural backbone. A series of abstract cuboids, varying in scale, reflect the architectural patterns of the new building and the surrounding historic streetscape. Some of these forms gently pulse with light, glowing and shifting rhythmically to bring a quiet, kinetic presence to the work.

The arrangement captures the many paths people take, physically, emotionally and socially. As these forms intersect, the sculpture evokes moments of connection and shared meaning, mirroring how individual stories shape and are shaped by a wider community. Reflective surfaces invite natural light to animate the work, casting shifting shadows that echo the movement and flow of daily life. Nexus becomes a suspended narrative that reflects the vibrancy, complexity and interconnectedness of the lives it floats above.
